Lesley Gore

Lesley Gore, famed for hits like “It’s My Party” and “California Nights” from the 1960s, came out as a lesbian in 2005. She had been in a lasting relationship with the renowned jewelry designer, Lois Sasson, celebrated for her distinct designs.

While Lesley acknowledged her sexuality, she emphasized that she never concealed it during her music career, stating, “I just lived my life naturally and pursued what I felt drawn to… I never sidestepped anything nor was I overt about it.” Until her passing in 2015, she ardently advocated for LGBTQ rights.
