Lou Reed

Lou Reed, a celebrated musician whose legacy stretches across five decades, was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. He openly discussed his bisexuality, revealing that his parents once sought to “correct” his orientation through electroshock treatments. Reed attributed this decision largely to his father and claimed the treatments resulted in trauma and memory loss.

However, his sister countered this narrative, asserting that the treatments were for his mental health issues and not related to his sexuality. She also emphasized that their parents weren’t homophobic. Notable figures like photographer Billy Name and musician David Bowie have been linked romantically to the former Velvet Underground songwriter.
