Partner Portia de Rossi, on the other hand, is a TV actress who has appeared in shows such as Ally McBeal, Arrested Development, Nip/Tuck, and Better Off Ted. She started dating Ellen in 2004 after meeting backstage at a comedy show. Ellen later proposed, and the couple married in a small ceremony at their Beverly Hills home in 2008. They have been vegan since 2008 and are passionate animal activists who always speak out in favor of better animal rights.
