Tyler Perry is an American actor, director, producer, and screenwriter who was listed by Forbes as one of the highest paid man in the entertainment business back in 2011, earning over $130 million between May 2010 and May 2011. He and his partner, Ethiopian model, social activist and documentary film maker Gelila Bekele, met way back at 2009 and welcomed their only son at 2014.

Despite more than a decade of romance, the model has never referred to him as her husband. By December 2020, the couple had officially broken up with Perry confirming it on his IG post with a mirror selfie that captioned: ‘a man having a mid-life crisis’. The split was quite the shocking news to the fans and media, but the two seem happier apart. Bekele continues to raise their son and is on good terms with her previous lover.
