It was torture to be in school, and all she could think about while she was walking down the hall was how a fool she was to not appreciate being out of it when she graduated But it was finally lunch period, and never had she been happier at the prospect of lunch.
Carola got her tray and looked around the room. She could not see Natasha, even at the jocks table, but she did see Ella sitting at the table all by herself. There were several other tables available, but she needed to hurt Ella.
Ella hadn’t noticed her enter the cafeteria, let alone by her table. Carola stood before the table and glared at the occupant.
‘Move.’
Ella did so and hurriedly.
Carola took her seat and saw with amusement as the table’s previous occupant ran into Natasha and tripped on her feet.
The latter just blabbered something about her being clumsy and joined Carola.
‘Nice,’ she responded to Natasha, who was followed by her two minions.
The girls smiled at her and sat down. One was short, and the other tall.
Not as tall as Carola – 5’8, which is just an inch shorter.
They were both sisters and funnily were named Bonnie and Clyde.
‘I have to admit, I really like this bitchy side of you, Care. Didn’t know you had it in you.’
‘Oh Nat, it is only the beginning. Just wait and watch the havoc I bring to this school.’ She winked.
‘Oh, I like that. Okay, listen, there is a party on Friday and we have to be there but that is after the game. Friday is the match, and we only have 3 days for you to memorize the routine.’ Natasha begins waving her hands around. The girl could not talk without hand gestures, and Carola realized that it was because of the insecurities that she hid.
Being born again and having to live through the same people had been eye-opening. It was probably the fact that being older and wiser before, she was perhaps more mature now and had a way of analyzing people and things that she can’t do back then.
‘But, I haven’t auditioned for the squad yet,’ Carola reminded Natasha.
‘Please, you don’t need to. It is the reason we were late just now. Had to fire someone from the squad to make your spot available. Now, I don’t need excuses. We need to practice hard. We will be here for an hour every day after school, and I need my squad to bring their A-game. Okay?’
