JON STEWART AND HENRY WARD BEECHER

Henry Ward Beecher was born to a Presbyterian preacher in 1813 during the time of slavery. He was 8th of 13 children, and among his siblings are known authors, educators, and activists. Yes, he, too, was an abolitionist and was known to be one of the best-known clergymen of his era.

Quite interestingly, his modern-day doppelgänger, if you rather call it that, is Jon Stewart, who was born centuries later. They don’t just look alike, they both share a huge degree of talent in public speaking, and are both very influential in every way. Stewart is known for his daily talk show, The Daily Show, and his 9/11 campaign for the health benefits of responders.
