PHYLICIA RASHAD – $55 MILLION
Phylicia Rashad was born in Houston, Texas on 19 June 1948. She is known as an actress, singer, and stage director, who has a net worth of $55 million. Phylicia’s mother Vivian Elizabeth Ayers is an artist, poet, scholar, and publisher who was nominated by Pulitzer prize; her father Andrew Arthur Allen is an orthodontist and dentist.
Phylicia Rashad came to prominence when she joined the NBC sitcom The Cosby Show from 1984 to 1992. She famously played the role of Clair Huxtable for eight years. Her talent never went unnoticed after she earned Emmy Award nominations in two consecutive years – 1985 and 1986. With her contributions to the industry, she was dubbed as “The Mother of the Black of Community” at the 2010 NACCP Image Awards. She, too, was the first Black actress who won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play, credits to her role in the revived A Raisin in the Sun.
